Title
Geography Field Trip 2024

Scientific Fields
Geography, Geology, Climatology

Aim of the Field Trip
During the course “Hazards and Society” at the University of Lincoln, second-year undergraduate students participate in a field trip designed to teach data collection skills and techniques across the full spectrum of geography. Over the years, Crete has been chosen as the destination, specifically small villages in Chania, where students spend a week exploring the different geographies, climates, terrains, and environmental hazard stories in the northern and southern parts of the island.

Organizers
This field trip in Greece is organized by Dr. Kristen Beck who is a Senior Lecturer at the Geography Department of the University of Lincoln, located in Brayford Pool, Lincoln, UK. Her primary research focus is the decoupling of the relationships between the dynamics of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems over time, using high-resolution paleoecological data from multiple proxies. A significant portion of her work focuses on Tasmania, Australia, with more recent projects in the UK and Canada.
