On 9 February 2026, Diazoma Conferences & Events organized the 1st EURCAW-Aqua Roadshow in Greece. The event brought together scientists and professionals from the aquaculture sector to exchange knowledge and discuss the welfare of aquatic animals.

The EURCAW-Aqua (European Union Reference Centre for Animal Welfare for Aquatic Animals) implements information and training activities at European level. As part of these initiatives, the University of Crete collaborated with EURCAW-Aqua and hosted the event in Salamina, Greece.

During the event, participants attended presentations about the role and activities of EURCAW-Aqua. In addition, speakers explained the European framework for the welfare of farmed fish, including species such as seabream and European seabass.

Furthermore, experts presented assessment tools for evaluating fish welfare. They also discussed the training needs of competent authorities and new approaches for improving inspection procedures in aquaculture facilities.

After the presentations, participants visited an aquaculture facility in Salamina. There, they observed daily farming procedures and learned about the practices that professionals apply to ensure high welfare standards for farmed fish.

POLYCONF15, the 15th International Conference of the Hellenic Polymer Society, was successfully concluded, bringing together the Greek and international polymer science community at the University of Patras.
