Aim of the conference
was to present, discuss, and analyze topics related to Fish Reproductive Physiology. Distinguished scientists from around the world, with very specific expertise in this research field, gathered in Crete to share their knowledge. In addition to the presence of highly experienced scientists, there was also significant participation from younger scientists (students, postgraduates, and PhD candidates). In fact, some of them were awarded for the works they presented. The conference aimed to highlight and honor the new generation of scientists in this particular research field.

First of all, the initiative to bring the 12th ISRPF (International Symposium on Reproductive Physiology of Fish) to Crete came from Mr. Konstantinos Mylonas (conference president), who is the Director of the Institute of Marine Biology, Biotechnology & Aquaculture at the HCMR (Hellenic Centre for Marine Research).
