Aim of the meeting
is to bring together scientists with research interests in Legionella infections, a significant microorganism recognized by the World Health Organization as one of the most impactful waterborne pathogens on public health. This is one of the reasons Legionella has been included in the new European Drinking Water Directive (2020/2184), as it must be monitored in the water systems of priority buildings.

Organizers
Conference is organized by the members of the ESCMID Study Group for Legionella Infections (ESGLI), and the National Public Health Organization of Greece(NPHO).
Under the auspices of the Hellenic Society for Microbiology (GR-HMS).

Chair
The local organization, led by Ms. Elisavet Mouratidou (Epidemiologist) and Dr. Anastasia Flountzi (Pathologist – Microbiologist), played a crucial role in the successful execution of the 7th ESGLI Meeting in Greece.
