From May 3 to 10, an educational field trip was held in Crete, with the participation of students and teachers from Lincoln. The goal of the trip was to experientially approach geographical, social and environmental issues through on-site activities.

The trip began with an arrival in Chania and included walks in the city and a visit to the Archaeological Museum, connecting the urban space with its historical background. In the following days, the participants studied natural phenomena, such as tsunami deposits on Balos beach and signs of flooding in the Ilinga gorge.

The visit to abandoned villages, such as north of Chora Sfakia, opened discussions on the risks to the built environment and human vulnerability. The program culminated with presentations and exchange of experiences, offering a valuable pedagogical experience in the field.

The trip concluded with a final stop in Falasarna and a return to the United Kingdom, leaving participants with knowledge, impressions and a deeper understanding of the place and the topics studied.
